Had a GREAT session with Erin yesterday! We had a blast and the pictures came out wonderful, if we do say so ourselves. Erin is just a natural, she just knows what to do! Here are just a few that I had a chance to look at while backing everything up. I’m sure there will be more to come!!

Stacey and I like to be able to shoot engagements together, when possible, because it also gives us a chance to get to know the bride and groom. We had a great time last Saturday with Harold and Kristen, and, if I must say, a great session as well. We are looking forward to their wedding in June. Here are some of our favorite shots.

Here are some of the St. Louis pictures I’ve processed so far from our shoots with Sheila and Jon. So far, we’re calling this an “Extended Bridal Session.” Basically, the bride, and groom (when desired), can opt for another session at a later date from their wedding. Or before their wedding, if they so desire. This extra session allows us to really delve in deep and spend some extra time with the couple, away from the craziness and hurry of the wedding day. While we always strive to get everything that the couple wants on their wedding day, you have to admit that the big day can be quite hectic. Sometimes, through no control of our own, there’s just plain not enough time allotted for photos. Or maybe it rained on your big day and while you had some great rainy day pictures, you also want some done without the rain. Maybe the bride just isn’t ready to box that dress up. Or maybe she just wants to get wild and crazy! (Horses and creeks and fields and any of that ring a bell?) While this information is not yet on the website, we will soon have wedding packages that include a session such as this and we will also have information regarding these sessions as stand-alone. Is it your 5 year anniversary and you just want to have some fun? We didn’t have to shoot your wedding to do an extended bridal session with you! Yes, we really do suck as bloggers. Have got to find a better way to do this. :)

Not to say, again, that we haven’t been busy, because we have. I guess that’s the main reason we’re not blogging, we have other things to do! Last Friday, in fact, we spent our early morning time doing this:

I took this picture of Stacey and Jon leading Sheila out to the perfect spot in our special creek for an extended bridal session (which will be on the website soon)… and about five seconds later, I fell in. Despite what you see in the photo, I was standing in knee-length water and the fall resulted in the camera that took this picture being ruined, as well as the attached lens. Upgrade for me! Ha. Here’s a lesson, kids, cameras and lenses do not like frigid, fast-moving water. Ok, I made part of that up. They don’t like water, period. I don’t think they care whether that water is frigid or fast-moving. That’s just a little piece of information I needed you to know. Thankfully, my SD card manned up and still allowed me to download all my images. Good boy.

Oh, and in case you hadn’t noticed, there IS a horse in that photo. That would be Susie, one of Stacey’s very own beautiful horses who was a great sport on this particularly cold April morning. Oh, you did notice that? Just call me Catherine Obvious… I mean, Captain.

This was incredibly fun and a little bird told me we get to do this again this summer or fall, though we’re going to give another horse some modeling opportunity this time.

Thanks again to Jon and Sheila for being wonderful models, not just for this, but the other shoot we did the previous day. Yes, we got her in the water, too… more to come…

Today we have snow but last Friday was absolutely mahhh-velous out and we took advantage of it. Sarah and Erin were so kind as to model some crochet scarves and hand painted silk scarves for me in the park and we also did some pictures of Sarah and her furrbaby Harley. It was really a gorgeous day and we had lots of fun. Here are some of my favorite shots:

I know I say this all the time, but this shoot was a lot of fun! Not were we honored to take maternity photos for my long time friends Tara and Andy, but we were in Kiener Plaza at sunrise on what would later turn out to be a VERY hot July day. The sunrise idea was at first hated by all, but we brought it together and it came out great. The lighting, settings, everything was amazing. We shot and puddled around for about 3 hours before it started to get pretty hot out and by then, of course, we’d gotten lots of great shots. This was also our second maternity shoot in Kiener, but the first where the fountains were flowing, as the last time was the middle of the winter. We also went down to the City Gardens for a while, my first time there, they are very nice! Enjoy the photos, I’ll probably be posting newborn shots tomorrow.
